This place is just great. It's that perfect mix of bar and restaurant. There is a place to belly up and maybe 8-10 booths inside and comparable seating out. The decor is best described as eclectic, but it's keeps it interesting. It's kind of like an episode of American pickers. They have a TON of craft beers and lot of local flavors. I had the BBQ pulled pork flatbread pizza. AWESOME!! Everything that came out of the window looked great. I wished I was staying in town more than one night so I could come back. Service? everyone seemed well taken care of. I sat at the bar and Libby was great. Make sure you sit at the bar when she's working. She knows her beer and can describe it to a 't'. She also describes the menu well and can make an out of towner feel like a local. She's fun, knowledgeable, attentive, and if it matters, not bad to look at. Ok, so I just sounded a bit sexist there, but I had to throw that in. Bottom line, if you want to get off the commercial path and see what the locals do in WPB, go to Dixie grill and bar and talk with Libby. She will give you the low down with the menu, beer and the town. Thanks Libby and my apologies to the patrons at the bar. I will work on my music selection. I will remember, Mumford and Sons = bad - Barry Manilow = good ;). Kidding, kind of an inside joke in case the people I met there happen to read this.

Needed a place to eat and stopped here because it looked cute. Got a burger and it was so much food! Lots of good, greasy food here. You will come out stuffed. Very cute decor too. Liked this place a lot.

First time here and honestly have to say it was not a good experience. . After being seated and waiting 15 minutes, finally asked host if there was a waiter assigned to our table. Not a pleasant experience because had to ask for too many things, like eating utensils after our food came, asking for water more than once and waiting way too long for a beer and then finally the bill was not correct and had to send bill back twice to get correct amount.. Maybe they were having a bad night??? (service 0)

Read some reviews in the palm beach post and thought I would give it a try. The experience was not very pleasant , It took a while for the server to get our drinks and get our order food took another 20 min to come out. I ordered a burger which I always order med rare and acknowledge the fact that most places over or under cook them so it could be anywhere from rare to med.. What arrived was a very dry extra well done burger.. so off point and disapointing. It could have been the server we had ringing it in wrong but really it doesn't matter cause I won't be back.

After another Yelper informed me that they got a new chef at Dixie Grill and the burgers were 5 star I decided to give them another shot. Server was better then the last one but nowhere near attentive. Drinks were left empty and I waited over 10 minutes for a water. She was at least friendly. Pretzel bread and beer cheese dip was really good but that was the best thing we had. Burgers were horrible. I had the fire burger and it was meh... With a name and warring that came with it I would have thought it was spicier. Fried jalapeno pieces were the only thing that saved it. My husband ordered the Texas burger and it was worse then mine. ZERO seasoning on the burger. It was bad and over cooked. You get the choice of one side with each burger and he went with the mac n cheese. What came out was a half cousin of buttery corkscrew noodles. No cheese just a creamy buttery sauce. Mac n cheese from a blue box would have been a step up in the cheese department. What's even worse was that when we got the bill there was an up charge for the mac n cheese which was never brought up to us. I don't care if you want to nickle and dime me but at least give me a heads up. When our waitress came over to clear our plates she noticed that my husband had only taken one bite out of his burger ( at least she noticed) but after she asked him what was wrong and he explained to her it was not good she never offered to replace it or take it off the bill. We paid and ran out as fast as we could. Never never never again!

Love this place! We had the pork sliders and the beer cheese sauce was amazing. The craft beer selection did not disappoint. This local bar has an eclectic atmosphere and decor. Our waitress had great recommendations and was very friendly. Would come here again!

Fantastic burgers (black and blue is my favorite), great beer brat sliders, great wings and a beer list second to none!! I would recommend this place to anyone, plus they let you sample the beer when you're undecided. Best kept secret in WPB!

Again the fish dip and craft beer selection can't be beat in this neck of the woods. Did not have the wings this time instead opting for the Taco special- they were ok but I think they were trying to be too trendy. The guacamole/mayo on the steak taco was way to mayo and really did not add to the flavor - a little overpowering. Could not taste the Chipotle sauce they stayed was on there as the gauc sauce overshadowed it.The Mahi taco tasted good, but seemed to be lacking that freshness you get with a little cilantro. Still the best place I've found for food and beer in this town. Service at the bar from Libby was great. I still give this place 5 stars.

I went to Dixie Grill & Bar for the first time last Sunday with my family. Everything we got was fantastic (Burgers, Pulled Chicken, Wraps, AMAZING Fries, Coleslaw, etc.) Service was fast, friendly and fantastic. It was so good I went back that night and got a chicken sandwich to try something else.

Tried Dixie Grill on a Monday evening. I ordered the fire burger with Mac and cheese, and my girlfriend got the beer cheese and pretzel bread app along with sides of Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the burger, which came with a hot pepper based sauce on the side. Wasn't medium rare but still very good. The Mac and cheese was unremarkable. Mashed potatoes were good though and I REALLY liked the beer cheese app. Service was pleasant, and they are dog friendly as well. They'll even bring out a water bowl for them and have a couple menu items. Oh, and they have a nice selection of craft beer as well. Good place.

I was visiting with a longtime friend while down in the area for Father's Day, and she knows how I feel about craft beer. She knows people who run/work Dixie Grill & Bar and that they had recently revamped their beer selection. I could not have been happier she took me there! We sat directly at the bar, which is where I prefer. I feel I usually get the best service there. Our bartender KNEW HER STUFF! I've tried so many beers over time but their selection still had some local wonderful stuff. She made sure to let us try things even before we ordered them, and I actually ended up going with her recommendations more often than not. The food was also on point. I ordered a simple chicken Caesar wrap with a side of fries. I got the chicken lightly blackened and it was perfect. The fries were crispy and wonderful. The presentation of the food was nice as well. You eat with your eyes first! I will for sure visit this gem with my friend again next time I am down to visit!

U went there a while ago before it was under new management and was completely flabbergasted at how bad it was. Then one day we decided to go back and were blown away by how many improvements had been made. The beer selection by itself is great, but the fried chicken. Omg. It is to die for. Glad we went back and we will continue to visit for great food and a great staff

Food is ok.... Very common. Wraps, burgers, etc. Staff is excellent...not a beer drinker, so can't comment on beer selection. Smoking is allowed on the patio, which is not a good thing

Eat at this place at least once every two months. The service is a little slow, but when you do get service, it's excellent. The food, always superb!

2 stars for the selection of beers offered. We loved the variety to choose from. HOWEVER... 0 stars for the service on the patio. It is just terrible. We have been here 4 times. 3 patio and 1 bar. Every single time we just languish out there. Out of site out of mind. Lukewarm food and beer and the wait time is ridiculous. 15 minutes after ordering to get a drink??!! Something really needs to be done. At least get an early busser. And here is our biggest pet peeve.....keeping our coins!!! Damn we hate that. What gives you the right to pocket our money? Skip this place.

We were starving for lunch and found this place online. We were in the area and looking for a place nearby. First impressions from outside are horrible but do not be discouraged. Walk through the front door and you will be very pleasantly surprised. The bar is classic style with loads of beer taps on one side and all over the restaurant there are knickknacks. The ceiling of the bar area is loaded with electric guitars and the dining rooms ceiling has lots of old lunch boxes. Typically this type of decor is not my thing but here I liked it. Even though there was a lot of stuff, I thought it was cool and the place felt and was clean The food we got was delicious. I got a blackened mahi mahi sandwich and I upgraded to a side salad which I was charged an extra $1.95 which was plainly marked on the menu. The fish was cooked perfectly and the bun was buttered and toasted which was great. My wife got the fried chicken dinner which consisted of boneless breast meat and fresh green beans and potatoes and gravy. Her food was delicious. I had a pleasant surprise when we got the bill. We each had a domestic bottle of beer with lunch and the cost was only $2 per beer. I enquired about this and found that not only do they run their regular happy hour during the week but on Saturday and Sunday happy hour is all day!

Beer is good, food is OK. Service is very slow. Not the servers fault it seems, they just never have enough people working. Trivia nights are fun too.

Amazing food with an incredible beer selection. A fun and casual atmosphere makes the Dixie a great place to sit at the bar or bring some friends out to dinner. Everything is fresh and delicious every time. Their pork sliders and anything with their beer cheese is out of this world! Some nights they'll have some outdoor entertainment like a trivia night or a band will play. It's a great little spot!

Great place for a ice cold craft beer and amazing burger or slider. Hot wings are hot yet very tasty. Loaded with atmosphere and attitude but in a good way. Next time your on your motorcycle and in West Palm Beach drop in. You won't regret it!

Watch out for check inflation here - this dishonest place will steal from you. I ordered an entree that came with two sides and chose two items listed under "sides." When the bill came there was an unwarranted extra charge of $1 for each side. When we asked the nice-acting but inept waitress about the overcharge, she apologized that the menu "wasn't very clear" that only certain sides came with dinners and that certain other sides cost extra. We asked to see the menu again- and it says not one word about this. If we had reached into the cash register and stolen $2 from the owners, they would have called the cops. Yet these crooks think it's ok to steal from us. Avoid this dump like the plague - even if the owners weren't crooks, the fish and chicken were overcooked.

Love this place! We come here often and are never dissapointed. I love pretty much everything on the menu but my newest favorite is the pork sliders. They are the best I've ever had. The servers are so polite and welcoming. Love it!

Stopped here for drinks the other night! My husband and I both enjoyed the variety of beers that they had on draft and that they had ciders (only by the bottle). The place is small inside, but has plenty of outdoor seating. We'll definitely be back to try some food next time!
I love Dixie! What more could you want from a neighborhood watering hole? They have multiple TV's, trivia night, a dog menu, and 25+ craft beers on tap; and I mean real craft beers, not Blue Moon. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the food is good, if not great. Now keep in mind this isn't a Michelin rated restaurant, but for bar food, they have an extensive selection of delicious options. I love the Bang Bang shrimp app, and pretty much any sandwich or burger you pick is tasty, too. When you speed by a place on a busy street/highway with a neon sign, you might immediately write it off in your mind, but Dixie is a real neighborhood gem and I highly recommend it!

The grape tomatoes on my Cobb Salad were wrinkled and spoiled. The turkey meat had been frozen and was limp and wet. I sent it back and got a burger which was fine, but I was disgusted they served spoiled food. I won't go back.

I find myself coming back more and more despite the less-than-stellar table service. I have never been there without a waiter, waitress, or chef getting part of our order wrong. However the food is good for a bar. Burgers are solid, and sandwiches are good. Plenty of fried stuff on the menu but it's well made. Decor is cool - loads of 80's era metal lunch boxes hanging from the ceiling along with guitars, surfboards, and all sorts of memorabilia. And then there's the beer. A great selection of craft beers that are worth the frustration of the sub-par (but not offensive) service. I'd give this a four or an extra half if it wasn't for the service.

Very disappointing! We've been to this place twice now and on both occasions the experience has been less than spectacular. On our last visit, we sat down at a table across from the bar and the bartender acknowledged our presence with a subtle nod. We assumed that would get a server to come take our order. No such luck!. My b/f then went to use the restrooms and noticed two servers folding napkins in a recessed area. He mentioned that we'd like two menus and indicated where we sitting. They said, "No problem sweetie, we'll be right there." Ten minutes later and still no menus. Bartender continues to ignore us and instead chats it up with her regulars. As we're about to walk out, the waitress at long last runs up with the menus and takes our orders. The food arrives relatively quickly but the waitress has forgotten to bring us our drafts! Now for the food....I had the fish n' chips and my b/f had the fish sandwich. Both dishes looked like they had just come out of a box and heated up quickly. No flavor or texture. Ahhh well...at least our beers were relatively cold. When we finished up, waitress again took her sweet time in ringing us up and collecting. We actually were going to tip 20% in spite of the poor service but changed our minds when we were made to wait an extra 10 minutes while the employees socialized with their regulars. Summary --- This seems to be a good place to go only if you are regular patron of the joint. The beer was cold but the service was colder. Food was less than spectacular (better on our first visit). One star given only for the quirky decor of the establishment. No other reason to walk thru the door here.

OK...so I usually don't review because I don't have the time. I am making time because this place deserves it. Like a previous reviewer mentioned. Not much from the outside but a nice neighborhood place with a great draft beer selection. Ordered a shrimp entree and a salad and really enjoyed them both. A nice change from the chains and "gourmet" restaurants in WPB.

I had a blackened dolphin sandwich with fries and an order of conch fritters. The key lime sauce is really creative and tasty. The smoked fish dip is also really nice: a big tray of all sorts of veggies, and crackers.

It is what it is. The place is jam packed with kitschy Florida items that fondly remind me of my Grandma. We've been there now twice. We had a couple sandwiches - which were both good. We will definitely be back.

This place is very affordable and they have some great specials (especially now that football is back around). It's completely different on the inside than the outside, filled with cool old antiques and guitars that somehow mesh well with the tvs and sports talk going on by the other customers. I haven't had a bad meal yet and almost always get sucked into a new food special they are running for the day - the peanut butter and chocolate something dessert is so good. Overall one of my favorite places in all of south Florida.

Old Florida charm...laid back, large menu, indoor / outdoor seating and Trivia on Tuesday and Friday night!

Dixie grill and bar is a fine place to go for a burger or sandwich. If the bar crowd is too much to handle, try the outdoor seating. On my most recent visit our waitress was great! I've never had bad service or bad food here.

This is a neighborhood place, that never really seems too busy, but I'm told they fill up often. The menu is American Bar food, plus fish sandwiches and other Florida cuisine. Everything screams old Florida, from the people working there, the menu, the artwork on the walls and ceiling and the beer selection. It's a little more expensive than most blue collar dive bars in the area, but then that's not really what it is.

Love this neighborhood spot. Fun atmosphere with Floridiana all over the walls and ceiling. Extensive menu plus specials every day. Lots of sides. Great sandwiches and wraps for lunch. Fresh seafood and more for dinner. I think the flat iron steak is one of the best deals in town for dinner. The patio is dog friendly and they bring your pup a bowl of ice water. There is even a dog section on the menu - my friend's dog Boo is a big fan of the chicken and rice. Of course, the patio over looks Dixie Highway, so don't count on fabulous views, but that's not what Dixie Grill is about. The craft beer list is big and they have many on tap. They seem to rotate the selection so that there is always something new. Sorry Flanigan's, but Dixie is the best casual dinner spot in the Southend.

We were so glad to find this place while on vacation on Palm Beach. We found it using the Yelp App, so hats off to Yelp. The Dixie Grill & Bar is comfy and kick back, full bar, but they really do focus on GREAT food. We both had burgers but spent about 15 minutes drooling over everything else on the menu. TIP: Get the Brussel Sprouts with Bacon as a side. YUMMM! Guilt free and awesome!

Excellent place to try craft beers from around the country. Owner and bar tender know their beer. Chicken Wings are very good but a bit pricey. I have had a few sandwiches there and they are ok. I need to try some of their burgers and entrees in future

I recently made my way north to West Palm for a Dave Matthews concert at the Cruzan, and though the day was fairly marred by a disappointing set list, Dixie proved the perfect place for what I wanted leading up to an afternoon on the lawn: greasy food, cheap drinks, and a genuine atmosphere. After asking the waitress what was on tap and expecting the usual Anheuser and MillerCoors rundown, I was very surprised (very pleasantly surprised) to hear the waitress present a fermented spectrum from Leffe to countless IPAs. What's more, after satisfying my palate, I was able to spend the rest of the three hours that I spent there drinking the cheap stuff at a two-for-one clip. (Dixie hosts all day happy hour on Saturdays.) Adorned with a bevy of Americana that stokes a nostalgia for an era I never experienced, I spent a great deal of time between drinks admiring the countless lunchboxes, rulers, bottle openers, and borderline offensive memorabilia (among other things) hanging like streamers from the ceiling and mounted like buck heads on the walls: a veritable trophy room of American splendor and disillusionment. The staff was graceful, patient, and not without its familial and neighborly charm, and our waitress in particular proved a most helpful and attentive host as she never strayed too far nor waited too long before asking if we needed anything else. When hunger finally hit, I ordered wings tossed in Dixie's El Torcho sauce (presumably its hottest). While the wings were good and cooked with a nice char, I was a little disappointed at the fairly mild nature of the sauce, though I realize that this is perhaps more a testament to my own masochism than to Dixie's culinary shortcomings. If I were a betting man (which, after a few drinks, I am), I'd put my money on the former; that is, I'm sure Dixie's food is as top notch and artery-clogging as the nature of its ambiance evokes. This place was great, and whenever I next venture north for a concert at the Cruzan, I will most definitely return to admire the memory-laden walls and take advantage of the cheap drinks, good food, and exceptional service.

Amazing hands down amazing! The steamburger and the roasted red pepper chicken sandwich were off the chain, I sampled the egg salad that was on special and was really impressed!! And the homemade Mac and cheese, forget about it!! Have driven by 1000 times and finally stopped in, will be back many times, and I manage a restaurant and am ridiculously meticulous so trust me one of the best spots in palm beach county and my first 5 star recipient, not to mention everything is under 13 bucks!!!

Better than Flanigan's for burgers and fresh seafood; great beer selections; had totally opposite experience with service than the other review -- server was pleasant, quick and helpful. Casual dining in an easy Florida style. Well done.

Came here with the family after the Lake Worth Street Painting festival. The service was so slow and they weren't even packed. Everything was taking so to come out and the waitress was so not attentive to us. The food wasn't good at all. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak which came out a good 10 minutes after the rest of my party received theirs. IHOP has a much better Philly Cheese steak.

Mahi Mahi sandwiches were great. Get it blackened and get sweet potatoes fries or asparagus sides. Fat tire or another quality craft beers.

As a fan of burgers, this place is the best! They've got a cheeseburger that has grilled cheeses instead of buns! Usually my wife and I sit outside on the patio, but the inside is pretty cool to check out- Last thing- if you are a beer drinker, which I on occasion can be ;-) they've got a bunch of crafts on draft... I think it's like over 20? Anyways- this place is definitely recommended!

I'm in S. Florida often for work and was looking for something off the beaten path. I had never been and yelpers didn't disappoint! Yuenglings were 2 for 1 the night I was there and they have a boatload of other "beer drinker's beers" on draft. Blackened mahi-mahi sandwich was great. I asked for the wasabi blue cheese they give with wings for my side salad and it was amazing. Pushed my experience from a 3.5 to 4 star for the wow factor. A great break from the chains and gourmet offerings that plague West Palm!

A strange cross between a hole-in-the-wall bar and actually kind of a nice spot. The walls and ceilings are covered with gewgaws, the service is fittingly brusk and, when my wife and I stopped in for a late-afternoon snack, the patrons are *really* into the football games on the TVs scattered around. We split the trout spread/veggie plate and an order of onion rings. Both were totally reasonable. With trepidation, I visited the bathroom...only to find it clean, well-lit, and in great shape. Basically, this is a nice joint masquerading as a dirty neighborhood bar.

Went to the Dixie for the first time last night. Have passed by it hundreds of times. I was by myself so I sat at the bar. Laura was helping me with my order. She was very pleasant. I ordered the Fire Burger. The Angus beef burger was very tasty. Great char-grilled flavor and just enough heat with the jalopeno's. I only wish they would use fresh cut fries. That would have made the meal perfect.

(5)Hamid B.
Skip this place.

staff is slow, indifferent, & snide. food average. ambience average. personally, there's plenty of other places around town that are much better. not worth it.

(5)Bryan D.

Awesome little dive bar. Food is so good and the staff is always friendly. I eat here at least once a week
(5)Chelsea S.
Love this place! We come here often and are never dissapointed. I love pretty much everything on the menu but my newest favorite is the pork sliders. They are the best I've ever had. The servers are so polite and welcoming. Love it!
(5)Jill L.
Stopped here for drinks the other night! My husband and I both enjoyed the variety of beers that they had on draft and that they had ciders (only by the bottle). The place is small inside, but has plenty of outdoor seating. We'll definitely be back to try some food next time!

I will say I only went there to drink after reading about the new owners, a married couples interest in craft beer. The place used to be her parents. I guess it's in the blood and these folks have defiantly takin it up a notch. And I promise to eat the next time I go back (It will probably be good for me lol) So as you may have gathered I have an interest in beer as well which meant I needed to see just how cool this place is. In a word it's "cool" . It gets a 5 star for décor that's a given. One of the funkiest interior designs I have ever seen Just guitars , memorabilia , collectables and asst weirdness covering every inch of wall and ceiling. The beer selection was very good with a number of fairly unique craft beers on tap. They had the range of styles but I prefer to stick to Ales. I didn't even get to the bottles. The beers were all high quality, speaking of which I became quite..ah.. well you get it. Before I knew it I was engaged in lively conversation, juke box playing and general atmospheric lightness of spirit. It's a fun joint. It will probably get busier as the reputation grows so go there now while you don't have to wait in line..

Horrific service with a side of bad attitude.
(2)Melissa M.
Dixie ROCKS! The food is great--they have amazing food & drink specials every day--and there's no shortage of cool kitschy things to look at. Love this place, will definitely be back :)
(5)Brian F.
(5)C Wylie M.
I had a blackened dolphin sandwich with fries and an order of conch fritters. The key lime sauce is really creative and tasty. The smoked fish dip is also really nice: a big tray of all sorts of veggies, and crackers.
(4)Suzanne P.
Seriously smoked trout dip rocks! Great happy hour
(5)Tiffany B.
It is what it is. The place is jam packed with kitschy Florida items that fondly remind me of my Grandma. We've been there now twice. We had a couple sandwiches - which were both good. We will definitely be back.
(4)Alberta F.
(5)Carter T.
Old Florida charm...laid back, large menu, indoor / outdoor seating and Trivia on Tuesday and Friday night!
(4)Jerry J.
Dixie grill and bar is a fine place to go for a burger or sandwich. If the bar crowd is too much to handle, try the outdoor seating. On my most recent visit our waitress was great! I've never had bad service or bad food here.
(4)Jeff L.
(4)Ashley Z.
This fun spot has a great selection of beer and very good food. Onion straws are delicious. If you don't mind a fattening meal, get them with the po boy. It's worth all the calories.
(4)Karen C.
Good food great service interesting beers and you can taste before you Commit. Dog friendly patio out front. We'll be back.
(5)Jefferson K.
(5)Becky F.
(5)Steven K.

(5)Christopher H.
Better than Flanigan's for burgers and fresh seafood; great beer selections; had totally opposite experience with service than the other review -- server was pleasant, quick and helpful. Casual dining in an easy Florida style. Well done.
(4)Michael B.
Awesome food, great service, fries could be crispier. They were on the soggy side. Overall I would highly recommend this place
(4)Jazmin B.
(1)Scott W.
Mahi Mahi sandwiches were great. Get it blackened and get sweet potatoes fries or asparagus sides. Fat tire or another quality craft beers.
(4)Steve S.

(4)Emily P.
Dog friendly sitting outside
(4)Waldo J.
(3)Hugh P.
(4)Ed G.
Pretty good burger, cooked as ordered. Standard burger/sandwich/salad type place.
